We have worked hard to try and continue services on offer, this will be only to West Lothian patients due to location of services within the postcode region.
We will no longer be able to fund real hair wigs sadly from this week.
Eyebrow tattooing – we continue to fund this currently for a short time, natrabrow will fundraise to be able to offer these at reduced rate via referral from the hospital. Discuss with breast care nurse for costs etc.
Michael will continue to run his classes and we have funded these for a period of time with money raised by the butterfly’s charity last year. He will fundraise annually in memory of Kate to keep the classes going. Macmillan have also introduced craft sessions cookery demo/ tasting and pamper afternoons – call 01506283053 for information or via oncology at St. John’s hospital.
Excite referrals for 3 months free can still be done via your health care professional – they run a daytime cancer rehab class in Bathgate.
Macmillan and breast cancer care have stepping stone or moving forward courses – call breast care nurses for info.
Cancer support Scotland offer free complementary therapy and counselling at various West Lothian locations ,again call breast care nurses for info.
There is a breast cancer support group who meet in oscars the first tue of the month 7-9pm call Nan on 07855 238078
The free bra service for mastectomy ladies at time of surgery continues as does headstrong. Via the breast care nurses at the oncology unit for St. John’s hospital these will be funded from the breast endowment fund, donations gratefully received.
We have purchased a supply of magnets and creams to allow the hospital to continue to offer until supply’s run out. Again the breast endowment will fundraise to keep this going and would love to hear from you if you would like to fundraise for this –
